My comic book recontextualizes the novel “In the Time of the Butterflies” by Julia Alvarez. The Mirabal sisters are transformed into butterfly superheroes, they fight the evil dictator and mass murderer Trujillo. I created an alternate fantasy to make the telling of such a gruesome story easier to digest.
